My RV Resource likes to do things a little differently. We love sharing details about our Featured VIP members!

We’re proud to introduce Lee Blackwell of Blackwell’s Speed and Sport Consulting.

Glad to chat with you! First, tell us where we can find you online.

Yes, happy to be here. We are the distributor for a product called The Hub Saver and we also consult with RV enthusiasts as well as RV service providers to help everyone travel the highways as safely as possible.

You can find more information on The Hub Saver website or on our MyRVResource.com company listing page. We have a YouTube channel in the works as well.

Tell us a little about your situation while running your RV business.

We are full timers based in Brooksville Florida. We run our business from our RV and we are the distributor for several states. We still travel quite a bit for business as well as pleasure.

Do you live in an RV full-time?

We are full-timers currently in our 2007 Fleetwood Revolution 42N.

What inspired you to start your own RV business?

I was in the RV industry at the dealer level for about a decade, also in the racing industry for more than two decades. I love the industry and enjoy helping people travel as safely as possible to wherever their destination takes them.

What RV services or RV products do you offer?

We are the distributor for a part called The Hub Saver which eliminates the wheel and tire assembly from coming off the trailer in the event of a bearing failure. It works on all types of trailers including travel trailers as well as 5th wheels.

We also offer consultation to new as well as existing RVers about rig set-up, towing advice as well as over all safety.

What is your background and how did you develop the skills to start your business?

Growing up, my family owned several businesses and I worked in all of them at every different level. In my racing career I was in charge of multiple divisions of the teams I was a part of. I’ve always had a strong desire to help people so it was a natural fit to start this business.

What has been your business’s proudest moment?

Any time someone drops us a line to tell us that something we did helped them or prevented a bad situation from getting worse.

What has been your biggest challenge?

Being able to spend enough time with everyone that has interest in the product. Also making sure we’re prepared to service our customers as the business flows through its progressions.

Describe your typical work day.

Typically starts pretty early, once the east coast gets into their offices, the networking and marketing ramps up. We work with a few YouTube channels as well as radio and TV shows. That means a lot of computer work getting them whatever they need. I try to visit different regions a couple times a week and check in on our dealer network on a regular basis. Towards the end of the day, I’m working with the west coast until they all head home.

Tell us something interesting/fun about your business.

We are truly having the most fun when we are able to help people that are enthusiasts. But the most satisfaction is hearing from our customers when, not only did our part possibly save a life, but also saved their trip or vacation because they where able to either make a repair of get a repair done in a safe and timely manner and get back on the road.

If you could go back to the beginning knowing what you know now, what would you have done differently?

Developed this part a long time ago. I’d also trust my instincts more….they’re usually right…LOL!

What’s your best advice for someone who wants to start his/her own RV business?

Don’t start your own business because you need a job; there are plenty of those around. Start your own business because you have passion for something. If you do that, you will never work another day in your life.

Any other comments or advice you'd like to share?

I absolutely love this idea. Lisa and Jason, keep up the great work!

Thanks Lee! It was great chatting with you!
