Does Your RV Inspector Care?

Let’s talk about the difference between RV inspectors who care and their policies. We want to give you the RV inspection you paid for, but to do that we need a few things.

Hello folks! It’s Jason again with My RV Inspection, the only Master Certified couple in the United States, located in central Florida, and MyRVResource.com – It’s Like the Yellow Pages for RV Services! Today I’m coming to you with my Weekly One Reason to Get an RV Inspection.

I’m actually standing in the space where the RV I’m supposed to be inspecting is supposed to be.

Why do you want to hire an RV inspector that cares? I’m going to post a picture of where the RV was when I first got here this morning at 9 a.m. Right now it’s 9:50 and the picture here shows that RV is and a service bay. The RV tech is supposed to be doing a PDI today. While he’s doing that, he’ll be doing repairs.

My pre-inspection checklist clearly states that I can’t do an RV inspection while it’s being worked on or while the RV is in a service bay. We need space to do the inspection and we need to be uninterrupted so we can give you the most thorough RV inspection possible. The tech may have to shut the power off to work and we can’t test the electrical or other components if they do.

I was going to reschedule this RV inspection so that we could get this RV buyer a thorough RV inspection. The dealership said, “No we’re just going to pull it out of the bay and park it in a new spot.” That spot is right there. They told me it’ll be about 20 minutes before I get this RV to get started.

Now the reason I say you should hire an RV inspector that cares is some of these large companies out here don’t do a full inspection. First, they’re not getting on the roof or checking your walls for water damage. They’re not checking the DOT Date codes on your tires and in many cases, not running the leveling system or slide-outs. There are so many things that we, as certified RV inspectors do that they don’t do. They’re not performing a propane leak test. That auto mechanic (or whoever they send out) is going to spend 30 minutes 45 minutes with the RV. He would have just gone in there and gotten the little bit of information he needed and walked away.

So an RV inspector that cares isn’t going to do the RV inspection in a service bay. They’re going to have it moved or have the RV inspection date changed. We want to give you the most thorough RV inspection possible. That’s the difference between us and them. We want to do that for you. We work for you. These large corporations are paying very little to these guys to go out and do these RV inspections. They expect the inspector to do as many inspections as possible a day. Some of these companies inspect cars, motorcycles, boats, RVs, and more. They are not experts in one field. Are they trained in any way to inspect or repair an RV?

When you’re hiring an RV inspector, make sure you get one that cares. One that cares is a certified RV inspector who owns their own small business. They’ve gone to classes, they’ve learned how to inspect RVs, and most of them are also RV technicians. They understand the systems that the RV manufacturers use. Certified RV inspectors complete continuing education so that we can keep up with everything that’s changing in the RV industry.

That was your Weekly One Reason to Get an RV Inspection with an RV inspector that cares. I’m Jason with My RV Inspection, Lisa and I are both Master Certified RV Inspectors and RVTI technicians.
