Feeling cold air coming from all of the AC vents doesn’t mean all of the RV Air Conditioners are cooling or even working.

Hello everyone. It’s Jason again with myRVresource.com. It’s like the Yellow Pages for our RV services.

Today I’ve got another Weekly One Reason To Get An RV Inspection for you. So when you’re looking over an RV with three ACs, just because you feel air coming out of every AC vent does not mean that all the ACs are running okay.

Let me just go to our touch screen here and you can see I have the living room set to cool 61° and it’s 86°. The kitchen is at 80° and it’s set at 57°. The bedroom is at 78° and it is set at 67°. The living room and the bedroom have been on cool for about the last hour and they never kicked on. I turned the center AC on and I have cold air.

So what’s that mean? It means if I put my hand right here I can feel cold air coming out of this bedroom vent, but listen you don’t hear any noise coming from that return vent. That means this AC is not operating. When we go to the center AC and listen to this return vent, we can hear that AC. We can also feel the cold air there. Now, because this is vented all the way through you can feel the cold air from one AC throughout the RV. Going to the front AC we notice silence from this one, but I can come up here and I can feel air coming out of the vents up front.

Just because you feel cold air coming out of the vents doesn’t mean that all three ACs are working or both ACs if you have two. It’s always good to run one AC at a time and make sure that each of them is cooling efficiently.

With your Weekly One Reason To Get An RV Inspection, we have a 3-year-old 45 ft Diesel Pusher. It has 3 ACs with three heat pumps, but only one AC works. When it’s on you can feel the cold or hot air coming out of all the vents.

This is Jason you have a nice day. Jason and Lisa Carletti are the only Master Certified RV Inspection team in the country.  They perform RV Inspections in Florida.
