Inverter Electrical Issues Cover - Weekly One Reason to Get an RV Inspection - Jason Carletti

Is your family the most important thing in your life? Check out this unsafe RV inverter on a new fifth wheel.

Hello everyone! It’s Jason again with MyRVResource.com  – It’s Like the Yellow Pages for RV Services!

In today’s Weekly One Reason to Get an RV Inspection, we are going to show you a new fifth wheel with an unsafe RV inverter. This brand of RV has this same issue with every RV they build and their Rep and Safety Engineer say it is normal and safe. As an electrician, prior to becoming an RV inspector, I can tell you it is NOT normal or safe.

When the shore power is turned off and the generator is not running, you can see in this video that the GFCI receptacles show an open ground. An ungrounded receptacle is a Major issue to begin with, but an ungrounded GFCI prevents the GFCI from doing its job of protecting you from electrical issues.

In this video, I also show another RV with a different RV inverter that is set up correctly and does allow the GFCIs to do their job.

Everyone should know how dangerous electricity can be, and if your RV isn’t configured correctly it could hurt your loved ones.

With your Weekly One Reason to Get an RV Inspection I’m Jason, and please keep your family safe while out there enjoying the RV lifestyle.
