Can An RV Inspection Protect Your Family From Disaster?

Hello, everyone! Jason, again, with My RV Inspection and MyRVResource.com.

It’s like the Yellow Pages for RV services!

Today I’m coming to you for your Weekly One Reason to Get an RV inspection. I am inspecting the used RV and I just want to show you a little bit about your CO detector.

RV Safety

The National Fire Protection Agency says that CO detector that’s installed in your RV must state on it that it is suitable for use in recreational vehicles. You can’t use a home CO detector in these. It’s just not what the code says. So here I am at this RV inspection so let me flip the screen around to show you that they installed one that you plug into an outlet. So that’s a red flag for me. Number one, I’ve never seen it before, but if I look at the back of the label nowhere on here does it state that it is suitable for use in a recreational vehicle.

Carbon monoxide can kill you. You can’t smell it making it difficult to detect. So this is a life safety issue. You want to protect your family, right? So that carbon monoxide detector needs to be suitable for use in a recreational vehicle. So if you don’t know what to look for, unfortunately, you may miss something like this. That’s just one of the many, many, many, many things I found on this RV.

So that’s my weekly one reason to get an RV inspection. From My RV Inspection and MyRVResource.com, the Yellow Pages for RV services.

Have a nice day!
