So today, once again, I’m coming to you with your Weekly One Reason to Get an RV Inspection.
Right now, I’m inspecting a used RV and something many people may not think about when looking is homemade dauber screens.
Homemade dauber screens can restrict airflow in and out of the burn chambers of your appliances. That can cause a fire. It could also cause the appliance to not work properly. While inspecting this used RV, I found homemade dauber screens, which is a Life Safety Issue.
Let’s just take a look at what this makeshift dauber screen looks like. You notice they just put a piece of screen over the RV furnace and then put some screws through it. They don’t look anything like the RV dauber screens you purchase. Those have bigger holes and they keep the mud daubers, wasps, and all the insects from building nests inside RV appliances that could cause your RV major issues.
A homemade dauber screen can cause you a world of problems. So make sure you’re looking for that and if it does have dauber screens make sure they’re the right ones.
