Today I’m coming at you with my Weekly One Reason To Get An RV Inspection. It is on a brand-new RV. Let’s go look at that date of manufacture. Today is the middle of July and the date of manufacture is right inside. There we go 03/8/22 so a brand new RV.
Brand new RV slideout rubber roof membrane issues
Inspecting it for the customer of course, and I’m finding things. But a question for you, do you ever think about your slide-out roofs when you have a slide-out topper? See, we have a slide-out topper on this roof, right? But we still have a roof. That needs to be checked. And what I’m going to show you now. So that is a rubber roof membrane. It’s supposed to be tucked into this trim and sealed. What we see is that it’s not and that gap can allow water to get into the roof of this RV slide. Now the awning topper is gonna protect you a little bit but it ain’t the end all, be all. There’s a reason they seal them still and this unfortunately, is not. This can cause you some serious problems down the road.
